Commercial Vehicle Refurbisher

As a Commercial Vehicle Refurbisher you are responsible for the maintenance and repair of our growing fleet, in turn ensuring that all vehicles are safe and legally compliant for our customers to hire and purchase. If you are Level 2 Qualified Technician with at least 3 years employment as a Vehicle Technician, Service Technician, MOT Tester, Automotive Mechanic or fully qualified Level 3 Diagnostic Technician, we would love to hear from you.

Vehicle Refurbishers service and repair light commercial vehicles (e.g., Vans) up to 3.5 tonnes. Applicants will idealy be trained in all areas of vehicle mechanics and electronics, from engine and exhaust systems to air conditioning and security features.

Training and Learning:

• Actively participate in on-the-job training.
• Develop skills in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining light commercial vehicles.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in vehicle refurbishment techniques.

Vehicle Maintenance and Repair:

• Conduct thorough inspections of commercial vehicles to identify areas requiring refurbishment or repair.
• Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on various vehicle components and electrical systems.
• Carry out bodywork repairs, including panel replacements, painting, and cosmetic enhancements to improve the vehicle's appearance.
• Decal removal & machine polishing.
• Removal and replacement of vehicle Ply-lining.
• Removal of vehicle interior seating, valeting and refitting.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of refurbishment projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Working with parts suppliers to ensure margins are maintained.
• Prepare or repair vehicles for both sale and hire.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Keep accurate records of services and parts used.
• Carry out bookings and record customer information.
• Record and damages to vehicles and coordinate for repair.
• Ensure all documentation meets company and industry standards.

Customer Service:

• Interact professionally and courteously with customers and suppliers.
• Ensure that all calls are answered within target time and meet the quality standards set by the business.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers by displaying extensive knowledge our services and the rental sector.
• Process vehicle bookings and handovers over the phone and face to face.
• Help explain vehicle issues and services performed to customers.
• Address customer concerns and ensure satisfaction.

Safety and Compliance:

• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines.
• Adhere to company policies and environmental regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring proper maintenance of tools and equipment.

• Proven experience in vehicle refurbishment or a related field is essential.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of automotive systems and components.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment relevant to vehicle repair.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
